sometimes i sit on the beanbag outside on the deck at night. Its quiet and ruby falls asleep with her chin on top of my feet. I think she instinctively knows that i like having warm feet.I like how dogs are like that, just knowing. Today felt empty. I think i like being around people more than i know. I woke up at 11. fluffed around... went back to sleep at 4. woke up at 6. had dinner. and then nothing. i think i need to move somewhere.. even the city would be fine. oh i also trolled the internet for glasses.. found the PERFECT ones. picture coming soon i think

4 days too late..
so, thus begins the final year of my epic struggle with uni. according to statistics 90% of this(context) affects the reader more than the 10% which makes up the layout. I learnt this at my 4 day intensive last week. I also learnt a lot about people and the people around me. Its sad, to think that in those 4 days we as a group connected so much more on such an intimate level than we ever have in our
3 years at uni. I've learnt a lot about life and it amazes me how dedicated M is with her kids. And the fact that she is still so up there with uni work. How M.A and N make what's been happening in egypt so much more real. I love that i slip into my hideous malaysian slang with the girls in the back and we have a good laugh about it. How L made me laugh when i really needed it. How X had to deal with my wolf child and that A makes the perfect clinician. And i lov
e that for a few days we saw into each other, past the faces and saw what lay behind. So, to the Feb block of ECP, thanks for those 4 days.
For once in those 3 years,
i loved uni.

shower time pondering numero dos
which came first? humins or dinosaurs.. yes.. humins. it looks funnier. maybe, i think, dinosaurs came first, when God first created animals.. and then sometime between then and the creation of man. dinosaurs got wiped out?wonder what else got wiped out too.. on to the chicken and the egg..
i think the chicken and the rooster came first..because an egg needs to be incubated, no?

since we were on the topic of animals anyway.. i'd call him gerald. if i had a horse

literary confusions/confuscious
history. according to to a very reliable online source (google search) the origin of the word comes from:
Middle English histoire, from Old French, from Latin historia, from Greek histori
, from historein, to inquire, from hist
r, learned man; see weid- in Indo-European roots
reallly? wrong? i disagree.. i mean, any fool can clearly see the origin of the word was his+story= hisstory =history, the kiwis obviously said it like her+story= herstory which became shortened to history, because we all know that back in the day, everyone was a chauvinist and thought males were of more importance. hah! fools!
Isn't that how history is acquired anyway? stories being passed down from one generation to another? anyway i will leave you with that.
getting back to reality is boring

i don't like it..
recently i was sent this:
Remember the game last year about what color bra you were wearing at the moment? The purpose was to increase awareness of October Breast Cancer Awareness month. It was a tremendous success and we had men wondering for days what was with the
colors and it made it to the news.
This year's game has to do with your handbag/purse, where we put our handbag the moment we get home for example "I like it on the couch", "I like it on the kitchen counter", "I like it on the dresser" well you get the idea.
last year, i participated. my facebook status simply stated a colour. thats cool, bras, boobs, yeah i see the relation. this year women were encouraged to write about where they left their handbags.. handbags? boobs? unrelated. secondly. why not follow last years theme and once again use a color coding system? call me a prude, but in a world where everything is already oversexualised, why should something good (eg. breast cancer awareness) be marred by sexual innuendo. Men have no idea that these statuses (stati?) are about handbags, what else are they going to assume? Anyone can clearly see this is blatant sexual innuendo. Which makes me wonder
a) women don't want to be treated like a piece of meat but apparently it is okay suggest that you may like to have sex in random places on a public forum. what msg are we sending the fellas?
b) is a 13 year old boy somewhere having a massive laugh over this?(after figuring out how to get hundreds of women to post about where the like "it")
c) would you be okay with you 12 year old sister/cousin posting this.. if you had no idea about the context of the status.
maybe i'm getting old, maybe i'm traditional...
maybe i'm just a bit sick of an oversexualised culture where other people feel the need to apologize for being virgins.
the crowd is stupid.
p.s: try telling someone who's going through chemo or had a mastectomy that you're helping raise awareness by telling all your friends that you "like it on the floor".
highly disrespectful
in a bid to bring about awareness, see what you can do at:

late night musings and munchies
ah, stodgy cereal at 1:25am.. my lactose intolerance is gonna come and bite me in the butt.
pondering #1
exam question:
shen took notes with a pencil, 3 hours later, there are no visible pen marks on said pencil, but there are copious amounts of pen marks on my fingers.. how? i do not know..skills, i guess.
pondering #2
obviously shepherd was derived from sheep+herd.. why isn't it spelt sheepherd as opposed to shepherd.. it frustrates me that sheepherd is a spelling error and the red squiggly line has judged me to be wrong. also. colourful is correct.. not colorful, which mighty being decided that an americanized version of spelling was more appropriate? rude! apparently americanized needs to be capitalized. it's obviously late which is why i' picking fights with spellcheck but whatever. i'm right. americans are wrong. except steve jobs..

lazy bed days
i've spent the last 2 days curled up in the warmth of my bed... ultimate BLISS! and then studying.. which explains my return to the blogging world. my escape! my sanctuary! its really cause i can pretend i'm working but i'm not. anyway, getting to the point
. friends, there are so many different kinds.. there are the ones who you see often but don't talk much when you're apart, the see often and talk to heaps, the see sometimes and barely talk, and see sometime and talk a lot. and then the ultimate treasure.. the barely see, but are apart of you, and they listen alot.. and talk alot too. i have a few of these, and i know that across time and seas and what not, i can call on them. One such friend used to climb trees with me, we were both young, naive, hated wearing skirts cause they got in the way of climbing things, and hated boys (because at 7, boys are gross, except a boy called brian chan, who is now... reallly gross). She inspires and amazes me, she has a quiet assertiveness to
her, and grace like no other. she'll be coming soon.. i can't wait to catch up on lost time. we'll climb trees once more maybe.. but boys aren't gross anymore.. and i do love a dress or two.
also..
happy 21st birthday beautiful!
who said he would love me even if i had a mustache.
(what a hunk)

the good steward
firstly, i strongly dislike the westboro baptist church, i had a little look at their website and its just full of utter nonsense. No christian should so full of hate. But hey, who am i to judge, i'll let the big guy look after that. maybe in a smite-y sort of way.
secondly, i strongly dislike old men who drive lousy ford laser with the rego PIO 983. if you ever see him, stay away, he is likely to crash into you on purpose and try and blame it on you so he can claim insurance on his already stuffed up car. also, bonus points if you spot his wife/daughter with a beard.
but the title of this post is the good steward so i must then deliver a post about the title. i stumbled across a book in the family toilet (yes, toilet reading) called "Daughters of Eve" by Virginia Stem, turning to the last page i found a table regarding the amount of emission and resources that were reduced in the production of the book. a paragraph above explained that as stewards we also need to take care of creation. now having been brought up in church for the past 20 so years almost every single sermon i've heard about stewardship has been about time or money. this book however has brought up the point that as good stewards the environment is also important. the sad thing is that we never hear about being eco friendly christians when it is an important issue. mr.b comes from a pretty eco friendly family so he has instilled a fair bit of eco friendliness in me. what a change it would make, if every christian decided to do their bit of the environment. we talk constantly about making a change in the world but some of us don't do much for the earth and are therefore not being good stewards. so, if you are a christian, be a good steward, plant a tree... or maybe just switch of the lights that aren't needed.
